I prefer to be on the side of losers, the misunderstood or lonely people rather than writing about the strong and powerful.
We help people only during time of calamities, extreme pain, sorrow and losses which is a very noble and kind. But what about other regular or normal days? Why not support and be in touch otherwise too. There are many lonely ailing people living in forced solitude. I’m sure they would appreciate if people dropped in regularly to alleviate their loneliness.
All I have is me, myself and I and we are all getting really tired of each other.
However, I must admit that keeping myself to myself has not always been comforting. At times, I seemed to suffer spells of depression and loneliness, longing to become healthy again; of going out and facing a world of injustices, of misery, of widespread indifference.
It's sad that in a world of billions, people can still feel isolated and alone. Sometimes all it takes to brighten up someone's day is a smile or kind word, or the generous actions of a complete stranger. Small things, the tiny details, these are the things that matter in life — the little glint in the eye, curve of a lip, nod of a head, wave of a hand — such minuscule movements have huge ripple effects.
Lonely people have enthusiasms which cannot always be explained. When something strikes them as funny, the intensity and length of their laughter mirrors the depth of their loneliness, and they are capable of laughing like hyenas. When something touches their emotions, it runs through them like Paul Revere, awakening feelings that gather into great armies.
You will always remain lonely till the day you meet a person who can understand your mind deeply!
No better school invented yet than the school of loneliness in the matters of understanding our deep-self!
I also need to prepare myself for the inevitability of utter boredom: Very often, single people don't do shit. They do nothing, all night long. They sit in a recliner and watch TV. I've probably watched more television than anyone you've ever met, and I don't even own one. Terrible shows, good shows, Golf tournaments in Cancun. C-SPAN. Hours of Oprah. Law and Order. Lonely people love Law and Order, for whatever reason. They prefer the straight narratives. p60
