We humans as a species crave for emotional stimulation. And in many cases, as it happens, we are actually slaves to our emotions.
Gratitude is one of the most powerful human emotions. Once expressed, it changes attitude, brightens outlook, and broadens our perspective.
I cannot detain Love, holding him captive so that he may never break my heart. No more than I can stick Guilt in a pot so that I may boil him until all of my sins are vaporized, rising alongside the screaming steam. The healthiest way I know how to move through an emotion effectively is to surrender completely to that emotion when its loop of physiology comes over me.
