It has always seemed to me that so long as you produce your dramatic effect, accuracy of detail matters little. I have never striven for it and I have made some bad mistakes in consequence. What matter if I hold my readers?

We, writers & poets, have a big problem. We swim too deep inside life, also in shallow waters, and then we end touching the sand!

I’ve always known my circumstances were far, far from the worst, but I truly believe that just the slightest misalignment in our upbringings can have such a dramatic knock-on effect on our lives.

The answer to the question, 'where's the drama?' is another question: 'what's the problem?
