If I have one piece of advice to give you all about what to search for in your quest for What Next, it's to find where the line blurs between hard work and happiness for you. To find that thing where working hard at it makes you happy, and where you're happy to work hard at it.

I've never had a moment when I thought: "Tom, you've made it!", and I don't think I want to, because that feels like you've reached the end; that you've crossed the finish line. But to me there is no end. An achievement is not a finish line; it's a checkpoint on a far greater journey. It's a moment to pause, to take a breath and look back and enjoy what you've experienced and be grateful for it, but then to turn around and look towards the next checkpoint, the next achievement.

Every morning, the sun rises with endless possibilities that give you endless opportunities to begin again and to create a brand-new life.

Why wait to forgive and let go only after you have sufficiently wallowed in your despair? Why not forgive and let go now?

Today resolve to get rid of all the negativity that has been eating you away, dump those thoughts which create self doubt, do away with views that create self pity and make a new beginning. Life hasn’t ended, your page is still being written and you have a long way to go. Remember, every day is a new day and you can decide to start life anew whenever you want to. So go ahead write a new page, a new chapter of your life today and make it as colorful as you want. After all, you have only one life to live- make the most of it.

Forgiveness is a transformative act because it asks you to be a more empathetic and compassionate person, thereby making you better than the person you were when you were first hurt.

Starting over begins when I develop a reawakened appreciation for what I already have, a renewed recognition of what I’ve recklessly forsaken, a rehabilitated understanding that I foolishly do both of those things, and a revitalized commitment to live the rest of my life never doing either of them again.

The earth provides us a brand new beginning every twenty-four hours. It is a repeated invitation to breathe in the cool morning air and start afresh; to mimic the sunrise and brighten up while reaching once more for the sky; to carry a glad song in our heart like the early birds; and, as faithfully as the morning dew, to wash off the dust from yesterday.
