Often in life, you are forced to choose a different path than the one you desire, it is not fair, but who said life is fair. It is better sometimes to count your blessings instead of your losses and move on; although some losses are unforgivable. When deep in your heart, you reach to the conviction that "you did what you had to do and more", moving on will be second to nature for you.
