Nothing in any religious teachings goes beyond Humanism, unless you add the supernatural...Make believe is the only difference between being human and being religious.

I do not judge the individual based on their belief. If I were to, then I would, undoubtedly, be no better than the (religious) system that I frown upon.

I’d want them to know that everyone has their own rules for living and few people actually live by them all. So, although I may not have lived up to all of my rules and expectations in this book, I’d want them to know that I tried, and the reason I tried was for them, and if I broke them, they were broken with the best of intentions.

If someone takes it upon themself to compliment you, don’t explain to them why the compliment is misplaced or undeserving, say “thank you” and smile; that was the purpose.
